We are here to help you.

Barry Hillam, DDS, MAGD, FICOI

Program Director

Dr. Barry Hillam is uniquely qualified to help his colleagues integrate dental implants into their own practices. He has spent a prodigious amount of time in surgery with his clients —  coaching them individually through scenarios including hard and soft tissue site preparation, placements, sinus and ridge augmentations, and full-arch solutions. Over the past decade, Dr. Hillam has taught implantology in a wide variety of settings — including as a faculty member for Implant Training Solutions, The California Implant Institute, and as a private consultant. Dr. Hillam has lectured on implant and soft tissue topics in many parts of the U.S. and abroad. He is on the advisory board of Novadontics, has worked for Hiossen Implants as a content editor, and is currently on the Nobel Biocare speaker’s list. He graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2004, and he received his MAGD award in 2016. Dr. Hillam is passionate about the need to supplement the “how” of oral implantology with the critical theoretical elements that constitute the “what,” “why,” and “when” of the discipline — this unique approach, now taught at Roseman University, and combined with Dr. Karl Koerner’s standard of surgical excellence, will maximize clients’ ability to integrate dental implant procedures into their everyday workflow.

Testimonials

“If you’re thinking about taking an implant course, I have no reservations about recommending one taught by Dr. Hillam. He was an instructor at a course I recently took and found him to be highly knowledgeable, very approachable, and open to questions. Anything from treatment planning to surgical techniques, he was happy to answer. The course ranged from complete novice to well experienced practitioners. He was flexible and very able to accommodate all levels of comfort with surgical procedures. At all times, his tutelage felt like a guiding hand that was never overly invasive or domineering; making for an excellent learning environment. I’d highly recommend any course taught by Dr. Hillam”

Testimonials

“Doctor Hillam: Just wanted to say, I had a young man come in today who was in a ton of pain and needed some surgical extractions of #2 and #4. This is a case I surely would have referred to my periodontist a few months ago. Today, I felt so confident pulling my #15 blade out, elevating a flap, immediately doing a buccal trough for visualization, and removed the teeth with ridge preservation. You helped me find this confidence! A million thanks 🙏”

Testimonials

“I had the pleasure and honor to learn from Dr. Hillam in Austin, Texas during a 4 month implant course in 2022. I was very hesitant about surgery in general but the way that Dr. Hillam prepared me and walked me through the surgery both digitally and physically was invaluable. He allowed me to embrace mistakes and take them as learning opportunities. He celebrated the wins with me and he truly is a master of his craft.”
